How do scientists see what early galaxies looked like?

they see the past when they look up and see the galaxies. its looking back in time because light can take years to travel to earth and so its like their looking at the youth of the galaxy.

Are you looking at past when you look at stars?

Because starlight takes over four years to reach us from even the neaarest star, we can say we are looking into the past when we look at stars. Therefore some stars might have exploded already but we would not know until their light reached us. The delay in the apparent positions of Jupiter's four main moons at times when Jupiter was far away was used by Ole Romer to make an early estimate of the speed of light.

What has the moon looked likethe past week?

I don't have real-time data, but the moon's appearance changes throughout the lunar cycle. You can check a lunar calendar or moon phase app for specific details on what the moon has looked like in the past week.

Why do astronomers say that looking at constellations is looking into the past?

Because of the speed of light. A light year is a term of measurement of distance, not time - i.e. the distance that light can travel in one year. Light travels at 299,792,458 metres per second - almost 3 million kilometres a second - therefore in one year it would travel a collosal distance - near 94 million million kilometres. When astronomers say a planet is 400,000 light years away, what we see of this planet happened 400,000 years ago since the light is only reaching us now. It would be another 400,000 years before we see that planet as it is today.

How can we see the past?

Look at very distant objects. Although it is not a good idea to look directly at the sun (you can seriously damage your eyes), the light from the sun takes around 8 minutes to get to the earth. So you are looking at the sun as it was 8 minutes ago. Look at the nearest star (Proxima Centauri) and you are looking 4.24 years into the past.Other objects that can be seen relatively easily with the naked eye, are the Andromeda Galaxy (2.25 million years), Triangulum Spiral Galaxy (2.78 million years). Finally, the Hubble Space Telescope has spotted a galaxy which is 13.5 billion years light years away: that is, we see it as it was 13.5 billion years ago, or 9 billion years before the earth was formed!

Do you really look in to the past when you look through a telescope at galexes light years away. why?

Yes it is true. we actually look in the past when looking at distant galaxies. It is because the light emitted by the billions of stars in the galaxies take thousands of millions of years to reach our eyes. So whatever we are looking in the sky has taken place in past. What is happening in the present, we will only know after the light emitted from the object reaches our eyes.

What is the difference between have looked and looked?

The auxiliary verb "have" (have, had, will have) is used with the so-called "perfect tenses."While "looked" is the ordinary past tense of to look, the present perfect tense would be "have looked" or "has looked" (third-person singular).Using HAVE means that the process of looking has taken place already (present perfect actually referring to the past), or it can be an intensifier meaning "indeed."(e.g. You should look. / I have looked!)It also allows a negative statement that is not possible for the simple past tense (archaic I looked not), although it can be done with the past tense did.I looked / I have looked / I have not lookedI look / I don't look (present conditional) or I didn't look (past tense)

No it's a regular verb. You can tell if a verb is regular or irregular by looking at its past tense form. If the past tense ends in -ed then the verb is regular. (e.g. the past tense of look is looked)
