The sun is actually a remnant of condensed hydrogen and helium left over from the explosion of an older star. The debris pulled itself together by its own gravity until it was a giant ball. At the centre of the ball, gravity was so strong that it pressed the hydrogen atoms together so close that a nuclear reaction started. The sun is a giant hydrogen bomb. It is not a direct result of the Big Bang as previously asserted.
