An astronomer demonstrates that earth moves in relation to the sun
For one thing, they calculated (very accurately, too) the circumference of the Earth. They already knew that the Earth was a globe.
That's because Earth is not accurately round

He measured the distance netween two points and the different angles mad by the Sun - and worked out from these. His result was surprisingly accurate.
