The Sun's atmosphere is called the chromosphere and the corona. The photosphere which is below the chromosphere and is the visible surface of the Sun is usually considered to be part of the atmosphere also.
The most dense layer of the atmosphere is the troposphere is the most dense layer because it is at the bottom of the atmosphere. The troposphere is where all our weather happens. It also has the highest air pressure. But more specifically, the earths atmosphere is most dense at the surface.
The mesosphere is a layer of Earth's atmosphere located between the stratosphere and the thermosphere. It appears as a thin layer of air that extends roughly from 31 to 53 miles (50 to 85 kilometers) above the Earth's surface. The mesosphere is characterized by very low temperatures and contains the coldest temperatures in the Earth's atmosphere.
Cold because the higher up you go in the atmosphere the colder it gets, but the warmest layer of the atmosphere is the thermoshere. Also a good indication of the temperature of a layer in the atmosphere is to look at the weather, because on a good sized mountain there is snow at the top.
The "Northern Lights" (or Aurora Borealis) and their southern counterpart the Aurora Australis are formed high in the atmosphere in the ionosphere, which is sometimes considered as part of the thermosphere, the outermost actual atmospheric layer. Above this layer, the exosphere has so few molecules that they can escape into space.(see the related question below)

The Ozone Layer, which is made up of Ozone molecules, or O3 molecules, occurs in the stratosphere. The stratosphere is the second layer up from the surface, above the troposphere, which we live in. (Sorry...long drawn out answer.) :)

The highest concentration is in the lower stratosphere, also called the tropopause, and the ozone here is called the ozone layer. Ozone is also found in the lower atmosphere, also called the troposphere, and the ozone here is one component of smog.(See the related questions below.)
