The only part of the Saturn V rocket to return to Earth was the conical shaped command module.

The first through third rocket stages were jettisoned as their fuel was expended. The lower, descent stage of the Lunar Lander was left behind on the moon to save weight, the upper ascent stage were deliberately crashed into the lunar surface after the crew transferred to the command module for the return to Earth.
