If we were to draw hypotheses on what planets are most abundant they would either be similar to dwarf planets. Be cause we can see the big ones more easily, especially those close to their star (because they transit/orbit with a short time interval) most exoplanets are Jupiter like (or larger) and are hot. Hence they are called Hot Jupiters.
