Born in Sioux Falls, SD on Feb. 5, 1884. Grace Purdie was educated at the University of Wisconsin and AIC. After her marriage to Carl Moon in St Joseph, MO in 1911, the Moons settled in Pasadena in 1914. She is known for her paintings of Indian children and several books on Indians which she wrote and illustrated with her husband. They include: Flaming Arrow, Painted Moccasin, Tah-Kee, and Indians of the Southwest (four volumes). Mrs. Moon died in Pasadena on Sept. 6, 1947
