On July 20, 1969, Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin was the second man to set foot on the Moon. He and Neil Armstrong were on the Apollo 11 moon mission and flew the lunar lander "Eagle" down to land at the Sea of Tranquility. Aldrin followed Armstrong down the lander's ladder, and stepped onto the Moon at 3:15 GMT - 19 minutes after Armstrong had taken the first step on the lunar surface.
