the gravitational force of the earth is much stronger then on the moon. Also, a person is not "lighter". their mass is the same, it is the weight of the person. Weight is a unit of measurement.

You are lighter on the moon than on earth because there is 1/6 less gravity.

No. You are lighter on the moon than on earth, though your mass remains unchanged.

How is the moon unlike the earth?

Well the easiest thing to say is that the moon is smaller and lighter than earth.

Why are astronauts lighter on the moon than on earth?

yes noob

Why is weight less on the moon?

The moon has less mass than the Earth, so it has less gravity. This is why you're lighter on the moon.

How can the moon have gravity when there is no atmosphere?

Gravity has to do with the amount of mass an object has; not an atmosphere. The bigger the object, the stronger the gravitational pull. That's why people feel lighter on the moon than they do on Earth.

Why are we lighter on the moon?

The moon is much less massive than the Earth, therefore the gravitational attraction of the moon is much weaker (about one sixth).

What would you conclude if the rocks on the Moon were much heavier or much lighter than those on Earth?

The amount of gravity the moon has.

Why do objects weigh less at the equator than at the moon?

Yes they do because the gravity is less the moon. But on earth so you are likely to have a smaller mass on the moon then on earth. But in a way you feel lighter you are still the same weight on earth then on the moon

Do you feel heavier or lighter while climing mount Everest?

I think you feel lighter as you are higher off the ground and when you are on the moon you feel much lighter than on Earth

You are you lighter on the moon or heavier?

Since the moon's mass (the amount of matter it contains) is smaller than earth's, the moon has a weaker gravity pull, only one-sixth the pull of earth. This means that everything is six times lighter on the moon than it is on earth. A person weighing 120 pounds on earth would weigh only 20 pounds on the moon. Because man is light enough to float on the moon, heavy weights have to be put into astronauts' moon-walking boots!

Why are things lighter on the moon than on earth?

Because your weight depends on the mass of whatever other body is near you, and your distance from it. The moon has much less mass than the earth has, so the force between you and the moon when you're on it is much less than the force between you and the earth when you're on it.
