∙ 12y agoThat is actually a pretty neat question. The answer is a little hard to explain for a novice like me but I will try. Forget for a minute about the airplane part of it and just imagine yourself walking. Even though the earth is spinning away from your or toward you you are still having to cover the same distance both ways. It actually works the same way in the sky because the earths atmosphere is also moving with the rotation so the plane must still cover the same distance both ways. Now, not to complicate this too much but you are not all that far off course. Because of the jetstream airliners adjust their speed to keep times fairly close both ways because sometimes theycatch the jetstream amd sometimes they don't.

Because you are moving at the same speed /velocity in either direction.
However, on reaching your destination, you correct your clock/watch to the local time.
John Glenn orbited the Earth three times on February 20, 1962 aboard the Friendship 7 spacecraft. This historic flight made him the first American to orbit the Earth.
John Glenn made three orbits around Earth during his first space flight aboard Friendship 7 on February 20, 1962.
Yuri Gagarin orbited the Earth once during his historic space flight on April 12, 1961. He completed one full orbit before safely landing back on Earth.
On February 20, 1962, NASA astronaut John Glenn flew the Friendship 7 mission becoming the third American in space and the first American to orbit the Earth circling the earth three times. His flight lifted off at Cape Canaveral, Florida and lasted a total of 4 hours, 55 minutes before the Friendship 7 spacecraft splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean.
The sun appears to go down because the Earth rotates, creating the cycle of day and night. The moon appears to go up as it follows its own orbit around the Earth, causing it to rise in the sky at different times depending on its position relative to the sun.
Yes the tilt of the axial on the earth points the earth at the sun at different times when it's revolving around the sun giving the earth season
it was made out of wood and the inventor got the idea from his daughter when she knocked over the wheel from there spinning wheel and the wheel kept on going so this lead to the spinning jenny its just like a spinning wheel it just dose more thread at once and its faster and it was a times saver back in the 1700s or 1800s
Yes, it is spinning quite fast. Going round in five minutes under 10 hours is very fast for something with ten times the diameter of the Earth. It is not fast enough to make it break up, though.
The average flight time is 20 hours, 8 minutes. This is only an approximation and flight times are likely to vary. Your airline will provide you with a flight time when you book a flight.
The flight times varies according to the speed of the flight. If the flight is flying at a faster speed then the times may change. We are providing you with standard flight timings. The flight time for the above mentioned trip is.4hours0 mins
A victoiran spinning top is a toy the poor used to play with in victorian times.
10 times :)

That's 4 times as much as going once around the Earth. The distance around the Earth is about 40,000 kilometers, or 40 million meters.
Seasons are caused by the tilt of the Earth's axis as it orbits the Sun. This tilt means that different parts of the Earth receive varying amounts of sunlight at different times of the year, leading to changes in temperature and weather patterns.
There are several options for online flight checkers. One of the best options is FOBWeb, it shows updated times as well as integrates with google earth.
No. it's probably nearer 100 times that distance.
