During a full moon, tides are extreme due to the gravitational pull of the moon on the earth. This makes the water level unpredictable and therefore it is difficult for fishermen to catch fish. This is why they are expensive.
Fish are less likely to see the bright lamp and be scared away, making it easier for fishermen to catch them. On the other hand, during a full moon, fish are more active and may be harder to catch due to increased visibility. The bright lamp also attracts more fish towards the boat, increasing the chances of a successful catch.
The belief that it is difficult to catch fish during a full moon is tied to the lunar cycle affecting fish behavior. During a full moon, increased light may cause fish to become less active and seek shelter in deeper waters, making them harder to catch. However, this belief is largely based on folklore and anecdotal evidence, with scientific studies showing mixed results on the effect of the lunar cycle on fish activity.
Fisherfolks often catch more fish during a new moon because the darker skies and reduced light levels encourage fish to come closer to the surface to feed, making them more accessible. Additionally, the gravitational pull of the moon during a new moon can enhance tidal movements, which may stimulate fish activity. In contrast, during a full moon, brighter conditions can make fish more cautious and less likely to venture out, leading to lower catch rates.
During the new moon and full moon phases, fish are typically more active and likely to feed, making these times good for fishing. As the moon transitions to the first and last quarter phases, fish activity may decrease. Overall, fishing during the new moon and full moon can increase your chances of a successful catch.
The times of the full moon and the new moon are important to a lot of people. Several of the world's most popular religions use calendars whose months begin at the time of the new moon. Moon phases are important to avid fishermen (and fisherwomen) due to the change in the habits of fish from one moon phase to another. Some people prefer camping when the moon is full. Moon phases are important on some construction jobs that can be done only at high tide or low tide.

A subsistence fisherman typically goes out to sea for several hours to a full day, depending on factors such as weather conditions, the availability of fish, and the distance to productive fishing grounds. They aim to catch enough fish to meet their family's immediate needs, often returning home daily. In some cases, they might stay longer if conditions are favorable and fish are plentiful.

The sea is full of many edible fish that we catch and sell in markets.
Full moon is the BEST time to fish, especially if the tide is coming in, but as long as the tide is moving then you should be set for fishing, unless your fishing for rare fish or using crap for bait( in which case you would catch catfish before anything else.

There are a number of different ways to harvest salmon, depending on whether you are a commercial, subsistence or sport fish user. Sport fishermen can catch salmon using a rod and reel with lures. Salmon are not caught using bait, lures only. Commercial fishermen use gillnet and seine boats. Gillnets boats use large nets that are set out as far as 1000 feet from the boat. These nets lay out for several hours, and when reeled in are full of salmon (caught in the net holes with their gills). Seine boats use the same method though in a larger scale. Purse Seines set their sets in a big ring, then cinch the purse to collect all fish inside the ring. Subsistence users use dipnets to catch the salmon when they are swimming by, or fish wheels (large wheels that collect fish in pockets and hold them in a tank until they are removed by the operator).
