You cannot see the new moon phase because the moon always rises after sunrise and sets before sunset during the new moon phase. The brightness of the sun and the nearness of the new moon to the sun in the sky combine to make it difficult to see the new moon phase.
Comment. That's not quite right. At the New Moon phase the Earth, Moon, and Sun are in a line. (Usually the alignment is not exact because the Moon's orbit is tilted a bit compared with the Earth's orbit.) You can't see the Moon because there's no sunlight on the side facing the Earth at New Moon.
When you can't see the moon at all in the sky, it is called a new moon. This occurs when the moon is positioned between the Earth and the Sun, making the side of the moon that is illuminated face away from the Earth.
False the new moon cant be seen from earth at all.
Because a new moon - is hidden by the shadow that the Earth casts.
What can we see in the sky because of gravity
new moon is where the moon isn't visible in the sky.

Technically speaking, when you cannot see the moon, it is a new moon. But my thinking is that if you can't see the moon, how can it be new? So my definition of a new moon is when you can see a smile in the sky because the moon is happy that it has just been born, but when you see a frown in the sky, the moon is sad because it is dying. Then you get the scientific "new moon."
the stars
When the Moon is "new", it is very near to the Sun in the sky, and the side of the Moon that is illuminated by the Sun is facing AWAY from the Earth. So between the darkness of the "dark side of the Moon" and the brilliance of the Sun in the sky, it is nearly (but not totally!) impossible to see the "new" Moon.

You can. As the moon approaches full, it is visible in the eastern sky just before sunset. After it is full and it starts to wane, it can be seen in the western sky in the morning.

there is a specific pattern of moon phases and the act of waning means decreasing so when the illuminated side of the moon is shown on earth and is decreasing to lead up to the new moon phase (where you cant see any thing in the sky)that is a waning moon.
Yes, a new moon is not visible in the night sky because it is located between the Earth and the Sun, with its dark side facing us.
No. The new moon is when the Moon is close to the Sun in the sky, and we can't see it at all. The "waxing crescent" phase comes after the new moon phase.
