Explosion with one oxygen cryotank destroyed two of the three total cryotanks. This left only one cryotank for the entire mission to handle all air and power. This damage occurred to the service module only. The crew used the Lunar Module as a life boat to sustain them.
Insufficent power remained for landing and mission procedures. The command module circled the moon only, and returned to its home base on earth.
