As a general rule, it's much cheaper to send robots into space than than people. So, the question should really be, "why would you ever send people". Of course there are some good reasons for that too; but since any scientific data (for example) that we want to obtain can usually be obtained cheaper with automated missions, that's what is usually done.

What is the advantage of using the Canadarm instead of the astronauts themselves?

Do astronauts sleep in a bed if not how do they sleep and keep from floating?

Astronauts do not sleep in traditional beds; instead, they sleep in sleeping bags that are secured to the walls of their spacecraft or space station. This prevents them from floating around in microgravity while they sleep. The sleeping bags help provide a sense of security and comfort, allowing astronauts to rest while minimizing the risk of drifting into equipment or other crew members.

Did nasa build the Apollo 16 aircraft?

Why can't astronauts communicate with each other in outer space?

Astronauts can communicate with each other in outer space using radio waves. However, the lack of atmosphere in space means there is no medium for sound to travel through, so they can't talk to each other in the same way we do on Earth. Instead, they use radio communication systems built into their spacesuits or spacecraft.

Why didn't NASA send astronauts to Mars instead of the unmanned 'Pathfinder' discovery mission?

Sending human beings to Mars is substantially more dangerous and expensive than sending an unmanned shuttle. It would take many days for astronauts to reach the red planet, and large quantities of supplies would need to be sent with them for them to survive the journey and to spend enough time on Mars to collect useful data and samples.
