the roam (go around) planets. they have a camera attatced to them so that we can see what the 'robot sees. usually we send these 'robots' to space to see if there is any life on planets.

What planets have astronauts sent robots on?

Astronauts have sent robots to explore the following planets: Mars, Venus, and the Moon. These robots, such as rovers and landers, have been used to gather data and conduct experiments to further our understanding of these celestial bodies.

When did spacecraft first send back data and images from the planets?

The first spacecraft to send back data and images from other planets were the Mariner missions in the 1960s and 1970s. Mariner 4 was the first to capture close-up images of Mars in 1965, followed by Mariner 9 orbiting Mars in 1971.

Have humans landed on any planets why?

NO>Planets are not as near as they appear to be and it takes lot of time, money and resources to successfully send a human and bring him back safely. It is very like that in the coming 2 decades we will be able to send humans on MARS which is the one of the nearest planet other than venus.

Why don't astronauts visit other planets?

Currently our technology is not well enough developed to send someone to another planet and return them safely. A lot of work still needs to be done before this can happen. It would be very expensive to go to other planets. It would also take a long time to get there and to get back. So there are many problems to be dealt with before it will be possible to do it.

What are advantages of robots in war?

We value human life more than we do mechanical devices. Personally, I would rather a machine be destroyed than my son or daughter. Machines can also be equipped with many more things then a human can. They feel no pain and would keep fighting until they were unable to move. They also will carry their maximum weight for miles never feeling wear and/or ear on "muscles" like humans. We would much rather send robots to war then our fellow Americans/ Other countrians but the issue is the cost. To manufature robots would cost billions and if you built ths armada then other countries would reataliat. Plus rbots can't think on tehir feet. Robots also can glitch and have errors.

How much money does it cost to send a human into space compared to a robot?

I wud say robots are gay !!!!

Can gas planets be landed on?

No. The atmosphere just gets thicker and thicker until it crushes any space craft that we might send into it. There is no well defined solid surface like we have on earth and other rocky planets.
