Picture the earth as being a basket ball and the sun a flashlight. Shine the flashlight on the basket ball and you will see that the light only shines on one side. As the earth spins on its own axis the sun will appear to move around the earth. Really the earth is moving around the sun and spinning at the same time. If it didn't then someone would always have sunlight and someone on the other side would always be in the dark.

Why do different stars appear during different seasons?

Different stars appear in the night sky during different seasons because Earth's orbit around the sun causes us to see different portions of the sky at different times of the year. As the Earth moves, our perspective changes, making certain stars visible or hidden based on their position relative to us. This phenomenon is why we see different constellations and stars during different seasons.

Why does a constellation appear in different parts of the sky during a given year?

A constellation appears in different parts of the sky throughout the year due to the Earth's orbit around the Sun. As Earth moves along its orbital path, the night side of the planet faces different sections of the sky, causing constellations to rise and set at different times. This change in position is also influenced by the tilt of the Earth’s axis, which affects the visibility of constellations across different seasons. Consequently, some constellations are more prominent during specific times of the year.
