Best Answer

mars does have a little bit of air. but not enough for us.

---------

Depends how you define "air": yes mars has oxygen, and yes has an atmosphere, but it doesn't have enough oxygen for any form of life to breath.

Well it has no oxygen because it simply wasn't created like that. Now some astronomers like me think that it might have had life in its early million years but later grew cold do to two reasons number 1: the core started to become more solid and cold do to the size of the planet. Do to it's size its atmosphere was very thin and do to that it couldn't hold heat from the Sun. Number 2: because it was farther than the other planets it did not acquire as much heat as all the other planets the outer layer also became to freeze. So any oxygen left on the planet soon died out do to the lack of plants.

Nobody knows whether or not there is enough oxygen on Mars. NASA are looking into it to see if there is any water on Mars or any living creatures with a robot. If they eventually find something, then this gives us more evidence that there is oxygen on Mars. Until that day then no one will know but a small robot connected to NASA called the Mars rover.

Mars does have very tiny amounts of oxygen in its atmosphere - just over a tenth of one percent, much too small to sustain terrestrial life dependent on free oxygen. About 95 percent of Mars's atmosphere is carbon dioxide, with nitrogen and argon making up most of the remainder; also, the atmospheric pressure is very low - about one hundredth of Earth's at sea level.

There is almost no air on Mars. The planet does not have strong enough gravity to hold more than a minimum of air.

Mars doesn't have oxygen because it lacks an atmosphere. This prevents oxygen from being able to accumulate on the planet.

Mars has no oxygen to breathe in that's why in every planet you cant breathe in air.
