Basically, If the sun had no gravity we would be drifting off into space and we wouldn't orbit anything. but Because the sun has gravity it pulls the planets in, allowing them to orbit the sun.

Without the gravity of the sun there would be nothing to stop us from flying out into the cold darkness of space. As a matter of fact without the force of gravity there would be nothing if that could exist but an infinitesimally fine misty characterless soup that would never bind together. Whose solar system?

How does gravity support life on earth?

Gravity keeps Earth's atmosphere in place, allowing it to trap heat and create a stable temperature range suitable for life. Gravity also helps maintain the planet's water cycle by holding oceans and lakes in place, essential for supporting a diversity of life forms on Earth. Additionally, gravity plays a key role in shaping Earth's geology, which influences the availability of resources critical for life.

Does how fast earth spins effect gravity?

There is no effect to gravity due to earth fast spins because gravity is other thing and spin of earth is different thing. So we could not compare to each other. Gravity is made of mass of earth and spin of earth is due to sun, as earth revolving around the sun.

What is the is the difference between life on earth and life in space?

Life on Earth is adapted to Earth's specific conditions such as gravity, atmosphere, and temperature, while life in space would face challenges like microgravity, radiation, and vacuum. Life on Earth has evolved over billions of years to thrive in its environment, whereas life in space would need to adapt through technology or genetic modifications to survive.

Why do you notice the pull of earth s gravity but not the suns gravity?

You notice Earth's gravity more than the Sun's because of proximity; Earth is much closer to you, resulting in a stronger gravitational pull. The force of gravity diminishes with distance, and since the Sun is about 93 million miles away, its gravitational influence on you is significantly weaker. Additionally, Earth's gravity is what keeps you anchored to the ground, making its effects more immediate and noticeable in your daily life.

What would happen to your sense of gravity on earth if the sun were to suddenly disappear?

The same thing that happens every night when the sun disappears...nothing! Gravity on Earth is not dependent on the Sun. But life on Earth is, gravity would be the least of Earth's problems if the Sun dissapeared

Are main sequence stars only the Right type of stars?

By definition and experiance sol as a main sequence star and as a class planet earth and the earths moon with some comets as life as we know it. But a star like a gas giant its gravity may be to strong. Sol as a main sequence stars has the right gravity for earth and counter clock wise rotation and gravity

Why life is possible when there is gravity?

Gravity just holds things down on Earth. It doesn't stop life in any way.
