Glass is a very smooth surface with very few bumps on it. This means when you push your finger up against it, every point on your finger is touching a point on the glass surface, and as a result, every point on the glass surface participates in the total friction. This same rule applies to any surface, which is reflective in nature since smoothness is what causes reflectivity. If you try to do the same on a non-reflective object with many bumps such as concrete, then there are many areas where your finger is not making contact with the concrete due to the presence of a hole. Those parts of don't exert any friction on your finger.

Definition of antegonial notch?

The antegonial notch is the depression along the jawline. To feel for the antegonial notch, place your thumb under your ear and against the back of your jaw. Slide your thumb along the border of the jaw as if tracing the jawline from your ear to your chin. Your thumb will slide down the back of the jawline (mandible), then turn a corner at the angle of the jaw. Just in front of this angle, your thumb will feel a slight depression; this is the antegonial notch (easier to see on a picture than it is to describe).

Is Engaging the magazine catch while firing is a typical shooter-induced stoppage?

Yes, typically a shooter presses the magazine release button with the non-shooting hands inboard side of the thumb at approximately the second knuckle. Try lowering your thumb against your index finger on your non-shooting hand. Another cause is placing your shooting hands thumb against/near the button the engaging the button during blow-back of the slide. The grip for some shooters is tightened due to the subconscious fear that the slide/handgun will strike them causing the thumb to press against the button. This also happens with slide style releases such as in the Glock model weapons.
