Why is the moon round?

The moon is round because of gravity. Gravity pulls every bit of the moon together towards every other bit of the moon, crushing it all together into a big ball. You must also always take into accoutnt he fact that the moon revolves aroudn the earth, the same way every other round planet revolves around the sun. However it is questionable whether gravity is truelly the reasont he moon is round. Had the moon been placed, one solid object, then perhaps it has no need to be compacted.

I could show you quantitative statements showing how much the mass of the moon attracts other objects, but instead, merely watching footage of astronauts on the moon, you can see that however high they jump, they always come back.

Even though this gravitational attraction is quite small, it is obviously stronger than those of smaller massed amorphous asteroids, as it is indeed round.
