The sun is essential to our survival. Our earth needs its heat and light as well as its magnetic force.

Its gravitational force keeps us circling in place so that we don't go spinning off in space to collide with other heavenly bodies.

Heat from the sun keeps earth warm. Because the earth rotates every 24 hours, the sun's heat helps earth maintain a relatively stable temperature. Without the sun, our earth would be a frozen sphere that couldn't support life.

Finally, light from the sun enables plants to grow. Without light, there would be no plants because plants need sunlight in order to process (photosynthesize) their food. Plants product all of the foods that animals eat. And without plants, there would be no forms of life as we know them. All life on earth is dependent for its survival on vegetation either directly or indirectly
