Tityos is a figure from Greek mythology, often depicted as a giant who attempted to assault the goddess Leto as she was traveling to give birth to Apollo and Artemis. As punishment for his actions, Zeus killed him with a lightning bolt, and he was condemned to eternal torment in the Underworld, where vultures would feast on his liver, which would regenerate each day. Tityos is often associated with themes of hubris and the consequences of defying the gods.
