Dont quote me on this but I think they get paid a percentage of your earnings from each job. So, the talent manager in the end has to choose you. They take a chance with you and hope it goes well.
like a music artist actors have agents. the agents/managers book the actor and tell the director how much the actor is worth for the role.
well, artist earns pretty bad. but other people make good like managers, supervisors or seniors.
