Retingent is a type of hybrid executive search service that has aspects of both retained and contingency models. In a retingent search, the client pays part of the fee in advance, but the client doesn't have to pay the full search fee if they don't fill the position , promote internally, etc. Stealth Executive Search is one firm that offers retingent search services.

What is retingent search?

"Retingent" recruiting is a hybrid version of the traditional retained and contingent models. Firms such as yeeld.r in New York City are currently using this model. They act as an extension of your company by closely collaborating with your leadership team and integrating an onsite recruiting process; you can think of them as an interim recruitment manager. This intimate approach allows them to become ingrained within your company culture and leaves you with a strong yet scalable recruiting infrastructure in place. Their model is more affordable than a contingency or a retainer and typically provides faster, better results.
