I have never tried using an RF modulator but I have read comments by other customers using them. From what I have read it takes the signal from the composite or component cables and allows a connection to an older TV not capable for those connections. We can't guarantee our picture quality with these devices.
As long as it is a Dish Network receiver that is current, it is allowed. However, it has no effect on monthly charges if you choose to use your own receiver.
No you cannot. The receiver decodes the signal coming from the satellite that is unique to DISH Network.
You can use the dish but not the LNB; it will not work for dtv. The DISH Network LNB and the receiver decodes the signal and gives you a picture on your TV.
Actually, you can use a legacy receiver with a DISH Pro dish. An adapter is needed at the receiver to get the proper signal for that receiver. No, Dish Pro is a stacked technology, which the older 3700 will not recognize.
Call their 800 number and they will walk you thru it! If you are not subscribed, your receiver will not be activated and is of little use.
Yes, you can use an HDMI cable to connect your dish network receiver box to your DVD recorder or the normal AV cables. However, HDMI is perfectly advisable to use.
Yes, there is no difference. I use a Direct dish and an Expressvu receiver at the cottage.
it depends on receiver model, and electrical code regulations. but to get it to work all you need to do is have a line run from the 1000.2 LNB (port 1 2 or 3) to the receiver. if you have a dual receiver you'll need to run a second line, or use a separator.
No, TiVo will not work with a DISH Network receiver, but please keep in mind one of DVR receivers will definitely serve the same purpose. Please let me know if you have any additional questions.-Kirstie DISH Network
Just to clarify on the answers given. The LNBs are different for DISH Network and DTV along with the receivers. The LNB and receiver takes the signal from the satellite and gives you your signal on your TV. As stated, you can't use different receivers and LNB from different companies. The dish outside does not matter, just the LNB and receiver. Simply, no. The satellite dishes use different switching schemes internally for accessing the satellite transponders. Bull....loney. I'm using an old 18" DirecTv dish to receive signals from a Dishnetworks satellite at 119W. The satellite receivers will be different because different signalling protocols are used.
To use an HDMI cable for your receiver, you need a VIP receiver.. Each of these receivers have an HDMI port you can use to connect to your TV. You also need HD programming to take full advantage of the HD receiver and HDMI cable.
It should be, but you may need to have a Dish HDTV receiver. Normally though, you can still use a regular Dish Receiver, so maybe you've got something set up wrong in the TV's menu, haven't selected the proper input or have something connected incorrectly.
