Yes you can unplug the box and you would never be charged for the ppv movies you ordered if they cannot be retrieved however the boxes have limits on the number of events it can store and until those purchases are removed from the box you cannot order additional movies or events so a few movies is hardly worth it. The controller also reports boxes that fail to respond to it. New technology for theft is being rolled out as I write this. Theft is not a good idea and you will get caught.
