Find a glass-cleaning cloth (ones that are used for glasses will work, too), or a soft rag that is really thin, and then spritz a little bit of Windex on it. If Windex is not available to you, then dabbing the cloth in regular tap water will work fine. Then, just clean the front screen, and use the non-spritzed side to dry it off.
The same procedure can be done with the other side, but Windex should not be used for the stainless steel backside of the iPod. Regular tap water works best.
