It depends on what type of iPod you have. If the screen is frozen , on the iPod touch you need to hold down the "hold" button and the "home button" until the screen turns black and or the grey screen shows up with the apple icon. With any other iPod you have to hold in the "menu" and center buttons until the same screen shows up.

There is a button on the top, to the left of your ipod. It should look like it can slide. Slide it to the left! but if u have an ipod touch, THERE IS A BOTTON THAT SAYS "SLIDE TO UNLOCK" so if u cant figure that out....wow.
