1024MB = 1GB

Be careful of the capitalization of the "b" in the abbreviation. The "M" is always a capital.

There is a difference between megabits (Mb) and megabytes.

8 bits (b) = 1 byte (B)

8 kilobits (Kb) = 1 kilobyte (KB)

8 megabits (Mb) = 1 megabyte (MB)

8 gigabits (Gb) = 1 gigabyte (GB)

The rule of thumb is 1024, but is often rounded to 1000. The order of ascension is kilo-, mega-, giga-, tera-, peta-, etc.

1KB = 8Kb = 1024B = 8192b

1MB = 8Mb = 1024KB = 8192Kb

1GB = 8Gb = 1024MB = 8192Mb

1TB = 8Tb = 1024GB = 8192Gb
