Rechargeable batteries have a "life cycle". Ni-Cads can only be recharged so many times before they just completely give up. Lithium have a longer life, but eventually they too will reach their life maximum and no longer accept or be able to hold a charge.

Try replacing the batteries and see if that helps the situation.

No batteries to replace. Its like an iPod. Sony just sold a bunch of crap units to us all.
