This is not an HDMI cable. Its for Playstation only. HDMI to DVI would be a cable, but does not support audio. We do not have a way to tap the audio off of an HDMI port.
I believe the most commonly used wire would be an RCA cable. The cable should have 3 plugs, yellow (video), and red and white (audio).
The PS3 is capable of outputting video from its HDMI port, while at the same time outputting audio from the PlayStation AV port. You would connect anyPS2/3 AV cable that had stereo RCA outputs (the pair of red and white plugs), but you would not connect the video plug(s) of that cable (S-video, RGB plugs, or a yellow plug). You would leave the video connectors unplugged because you are using HDMI for video. But a better option would be to connect a cable from the PS3's optical audio port for surround sound. If your surround receiver has a digital optical audio input, use that. It will allow you to hear 5.1 channels of surround audio. The red and white RCA plugs can only support 2.0 channels of audio (stereo).
corrosion, a broken connector or conductor inside the cable.
The PlayStation 3 can use either a CAT-5 cable or can connect wirelessly. Typically, it's done wirelessly.
No, but most people do not use there's because they only work on Standard TVs and they have HDTVs. It should not be hard to find someone that will give you there PS3 A/V cable. If you were here I would give you mine. It's in a drawer somewhere never to ever be used
Yes, you can connect your desktop to your home audio speakers. The audio cable would go from your sound card to your home audio receiver which in turn would play out of the speakers. However, it would be much easier to use your desktop computer sound with desktop speakers. Desktop speakers can be plugged directly into you computer through a usb cable or audio cable and are available in a two speaker set or surround sound set ups. anonymous@oola.com
You would need a red, yellow, white audio video cable.
The beset place in Tallahassee to buy an optical audio cable would either be staples or best buy, But to save the trouble you can also try ordering online.
Best thing to do would be to get online support or support from an authorized repair place
The optical cable would be the best choice.
If you have a playstation network card, you can download anything from the playstation store, as long as you don't exceed the money limit on the card.
It's an input that receives audio. On a TV this would be your red and white RCA cables. On a mixing console for recording music it could be an XLR or 1/4" cable. For MP3 Players it can be a 1/8" cable. That's the basics of it. There is a lot more options for audio cables and inputs, those are just the main ones.
