Take the memory stick out of the camera and import your footage via USB connected card reader. Drag files from card reader to desktop. Open FCP, press command i to import footage to your project. OR: within FCP use the "log and transfer" function. If you have an earlier version of FCP you may not be able to read the footage and would need to convert the files into a more compatible codec, Apple ProRes for example. (Whoever deleted my previous post, the link was a genuine attempt to help the questioner not to advertise or spam!)
