Definition of BrucillosisInfection by the bacterium, Brucella, which is carried by ruminants. Symptoms include fevers, sweating, weakness, anorexia, headaches, depression and generalized aches and pains.

All ruminant's may carry one or more strains of the bacterium. There are distinct strains for cattle, sheep, goats, camels, and the deer family. The strain from the deer family has been found in some wild goat populations at some time in the past. All of the strains are presently treatable by one, or a combination of up to three, antibiotics.
