This is not the Office of the President, or his phone number, but a customer service line. These sharks are well aware of their deceptive business practices, the fact they have an "F" Rating with the Better Business Bureau, and that they are being sued by the state of Washington. They laugh all the way to the bank. They point to "satisfied" customers and ignore the rest, no matter how many lies their employees told to get them. Every dispute is arbitrated by their own people, so customers never have a chance for redress. Equipment they push as being "free" means that the piece of equipment costs you nothing...EXCEPT a monthly charge; so you are paying for it forever. You only read that in the very fine print. The low rates they promise are mysteriously bumped up (it's not unusual for a $34.99/month plan to end up costing $115/month) and if you try to get out of a contract, EVEN IF EMPLOYEES PROMISED you'd have 30 days to decide if you wanted to keep it, you will be hit with an "early cancellation fee" of over $300~a tidy way of keeping you for two years. If you need ANY work done at all, the clock starts over on your two-year contract. If you add YOUR OWN equipment, paid for yourself-like a TiVo from the local Wal-Mart, you are stuck for another two years with Direct TV. If you move your TV from one side of the room to another, your contract restarts, and you're stuck for two more years. This company has more complaints against it than any other of its kind.
