What to do when your ipod goes through the washing machine?

Let the iPod sit somewhere where there is warm air and don't touch it. Let it sit for at least 5 days.

3. Don't blow dry it.

4. Don't buy a new one until you try this.

You need to try Silica Gel Packets. There was a good article on associatedcontent.com that explains how to dry an iPod, MP3 player, cell phones, or any electronics. You need to place your iPod in a zip lock bag with Silica Gel Packets. Silica Gel will remove all the moisture from the iPod and its components, something air drying will not do!

Just Google "Silica Gel Packets" and you will find several companies selling these products. There is also a web site called: http://www.SilicaGelPackets.com that has them.

It might possibly be fine. However, if ANYTHING doesn't work properly that did before, you should take it to the Genius Bar in your local Apple Store to get it looked at by professionals. (Setting an appointment with them is free.)

I left it to dry for a few weeks and I plugged it into the PC to dry it knocked on like normal . All the buttons work like the on/off button and the volume and I can go as far as the slide to lock Paige but my touch screen dose not work so I don't know if all my memory is still on there. Do I need to buy a new touch screen and if so where do I buy it ? thanks

I would think that you are screwed, but you could try opening it up and letting it dry out.

Throw it away (or rather have it recycled) and get a new one.

Try to see if it works. If you have the receipt and the one-year warranty is still in effect, you can get a new one.
