The best places to look are on eBay or on different websites created specifically for selling needles. Many of these websites have a way to contact the creator, and the people are usually very helpful. Most of them will do all they can to get you to the right needle. If you have a serial number and pictures it will help a lot.
The existing needle should have a model number listed on it. On our Magnavox turntable from the same era it is listed as a Tetrad T2MD. This particular replacement can be found here and many other places around. I found this was easier than trying to cross reference the number found in the manual. http://www.needles4turntables.com/Tetrad-Needles.htm The existing needle should have a model number listed on it. The best way to find and purchase a sewing machine replacement needle is to check the model number of your sewing machine and then search for compatible needles online or at a local sewing supply store. Make sure to choose the correct size and type of needle for your specific sewing machine model.
There are several different ways to tell. If the console has a built-in 8-track tape player, its likely from the 1970s. If the radio face says ASTRO-SONIC its from the mid or late 1960s. Also, assuming the record player hasn't been swapped out in the past, that's a good way to check. From the late 1950s to the mid 60s, the needle arm was black with a gold elliptical piece in the head. In the late 60s the arm was very slim and gray. Towards the early 70s, it was even slimmer and silver. Hope this helps.
