Kane Kramer of England is credited with inventing the Digital Audio Player (DAP), called the "IXI" in 1979. It was the earliest form of the iPod. He took out a worldwide patent but that ran out when the firm he was with split. Apple admits that the I-pod is his creation. There is a link about Apple admitting Kane Kramer was the inventor of the iPod

Apple manufacture the iPod today but certain chips inside iPods are made patent protected and manufactured in Britain and sold to Apple.

Apple produced the device that they called an Ipod, a trade name for a digital audio player but bear in mind that other manufacturers made many other audio players known generically as MP3 players. Jon Rubinstein is credited as the person who actually created the ipod. Steve Jobs employed him to create the ipod, in an eight month period of time, and in October 2001 it was released.

John Lennon invented the ipod. It was a big box about 4ft tall with LP`S inside, and you pressed the numbers at the top to coincide with the record inside, then you put the headphones on,and listened to the record. It never took off?
