I'm having a hard time understanding what it is you're asking. I'm pretty sure you are asking why someone would use a digital video recorder when they could use a vhs. Well the main reason is that vhs's are really crappy and i cant think of any reason why someone would want to use a vcr instead of a dvr. My guess is that your really old and are afraid of change and new technology.
