Poe was born in Boston, Massachusetts. Since his parents were actors, they traveled alot. After Poe's parents died just before his third birthday, he was taken in by the Allan family and lived with them in Richmond, Virginia. From the ages of 6 thru 11, Poe lived with the Allan's in England then the family moved back to Richmond. Poe left for the University of Virginia at the age of 17. He also lived in South Carolina, New York, Philadelphia, and Baltimore where he, his cousin/wife and her aunt are buried in Westminster.
