How did J.K. Rowling come up with Harry Potter?

In 2012 a remake of the film "Troll" will bring forward a Harry Potter, Jr., first conceived by in 1985 by Hollywood Writer Ed Naha.

Rowling admitted she may have seen the film and the character Harry Potter, Jr., as was reported in the British Press.

To date there has been no clear explanation for the similarity between the earlier US-made production, "Troll", featuring a teenage boy named Harry Potter, Jr., who encounters a world of trolls, hobgoblins, and witchery, and the works of J.K. Rowlings bearing the same name and general theme.
