He is suspicious of the doctor because he refuses to treat Kino's son until he knows he will get paid, showing a lack of compassion and concern for their well-being.

Jiya is brave, hardworking, and resilient, and his friendship with Kino helps both boys cope with the tragedy and rebuild their lives.
Kino can see both good and bad. He can see a good future; new clothes, education for Coyotito, Getting married in a church, and a rifle. He can also see evil, but he won't admit it.
Similarity: Both are nurturing parents. For example, when Coyotito got stung, Juana makes a poultice of herbs to stop the swelling while Kino smashes the scorpion because it bit Coyotitto. Differences: Kino thinks the pearl represents all good things but Juana thinks its evil
The main male character is Kino, The main Female character is Juana, and coyotito is the baby in the role. Though the people that are not so important are the village people, the pearl buyers, and the the doctor is some what important depends on how you think of him as the hero or villain through out what you read in the story.
