Darren Shan is probably human. Not many vampires would create a character of themselves which is a vampire as well, and publish it as a book, and get it created as a film. I'm not going to lie. I believe in them. I have done since I was 9, and I don't plan on changign my beliefs, just because people call me an emo or crazy or whatever they want.

My personal opinion from reading all the books, is that hes about 12 or 13

My guess is eleven because when he meets Debbie, he has been a half vampire for a year and a half. And when he meets her again, she says that he left thirteen years ago. Also in a previous book, it says he has had a twenty-five year childhood. And thirteen plus one minus twenty-five is eleven.

He never becomes sa full vampire! he dies just before he can become one! if you read thhe books then it will explain it in full detail but he dosen'y become a full vampire!
