A. The ethical issues in this case is that the patient is in a late stage of cancer whose prognosis is poor and providing chemotherapy at this stage is just like adding one more burden to his body which will not have a positive impact. The patiwmt doesn't want to continue the treatment because of its advrse effects and no outcome and also this portion of chemotherapy can be used in some other patient who have more chances of revival . While the son of the patient wants that treatment should be continue and he belives that the present condition of the patient is due to not providing chemotherapy .

B. Son doesn't have a legitimate reason to sue the physician because it's the patient itself who decided to discontinue the treatment because of its poor prognosis and side effects .

C. Possible solutions to this case is to explain the son about the reality and why the treat was ceased.

D. The physician must have informed the patients attendent or son about hus condition and about the treatment option chosen by his father before his arrival to prevent the confrontation with Donald’s son

The referring physician is usually your "Family physician". If you were having trouble sleeping for example, you usually would talk to your doctor who might recommend a sleep study. Your doctor would become the "referring physician" to the sleep study. If, during the sleep study, you appeared to have seizures, a neurologist might be called in as a "consulting physician".
