Adeline Yen Mah studied in two different English boarding schools, entered the university collage and London Hospital Medical college. After graduation she emigrated to California and worked as a physician for twenty six years. When she turned fifty three, she wrote Falling Leaves and now she has many others, for adults and for children:

Adeline Yen Mah is the famous author of Chinese Cinderella which tells us about how horrible her childhood was and how badly she was treated by her siblings and her parents. Her Niang, her stepmother had two children of herself and loved her 4th brother the most.

After her mother's death two weeks after she was born (she died giving birth to Adeline) , she was reckoned bad luck. She also ment in this tragic and exciting book about her education and how she came top of the class every time.

The only person who loved her, her Aunt Baba, always treasured her report cards in her treasure box where all her jewelry went which proved how much she loved her.
