Prejudices produce inequalities and hatred. They become disadvantages for minorities and in the long run create lost opportunities for a civilization to progress. For example, the US South in the antebellum years held slaves and even freed Blacks as unequals in society. They therefore had no opportunities to advance themselves or society. A clear example is Frederick Douglas. An escaped slave who became a "man of letters" and a scholar- historian. Certainly other Blacks in the US at that time could also be intellectual leaders, however, because of prejudice however, their potential remained hidden by their skin color.
There are no advantages, and the disadvantages are only because of prejudice and hate. One day, there will be no disadvantages either.
Social equal opportunity prejudice refers to discriminatory attitudes or behaviors that occur based on the perception that everyone is treated equally, and therefore any disadvantages faced by certain groups are seen as a result of their own lack of effort or ability. This form of prejudice dismisses the impact of systemic inequalities and hinders efforts to address and rectify social injustices.
The main disadvantage is inequality under the law. Here is a short list of disadvantages: inability to marry the person you love in most places on Earth having to endure verbal and physical assault due to prejudice difficulty conceiving children and/or adopting
