It is from Genesis book 3 verses 17-19. It is just after God discovers that Adam and Eve have eaten of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God walks through the garden calling to Adam and Eve only to find them hiding. When God asks why, Adam tells Him "I heard your voice in the garden and I was afraid because I was naked, and I hid myself". God asks if they ate of the tree and they admit it, although they blame each other instead of apologizing for their actions. God curses them and in The Book Of Eli, Denzel Washington quotes the curse God put on Adam. "Cursed is the ground for your sake. In toil you will eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you and you shall eat the herb of the field. In the sweat of your brow you shall eat bread until you return to the ground, for out of it you were taken. For, dust you are and to dust you shall return." Fortunately, all the Bibles in the world haven't been destroyed. If you haven't read it, you should check it out. It's a fascinating story, as most of the stories in The Bible are.
