The space was divided into several rooms, including a small kitchen and a shared bathroom. Overall, it was a crowded and confined living area for Anne and her family during their time in hiding.

They found her journal in the office under the "Secret Annexe", where the Van Daans, Franks, and a dentist named Dussel were in hiding. After Mr. Frank was freed from the men's concentration camp, he learned that his wife and two daughters(one was Anne) were dead. He and Miep, a lady who had helped the Franks hide, went back to the office to look for possesions. There, they found her diary.
Anne Franks diary was red and green with a small lock on it.

The prime suspects in Anne Frank's arrest were believed to be an informer who tipped off the Nazis or a betrayal by someone who knew the whereabouts of the secret annex where Anne Frank and her family were hiding. The identity of the informant has never been definitively confirmed.
