In the book Elijah of Buxton, on page 96 it says "Then I said 'em, I said those words that made it so the lesson 'bout familiarity and contemp'll be fixed in my mind for's long as I live, even if that's to fifty. I said, 'And me and all 'em other little nigg-'" Then as you know, Mr.Leroy backhands Elijah. He blackouts for a moment too. I think we all know what word Eli was going to say after Mr.Leroy's lecture. I hope this answer helps! I'm in 6th grade and because I'm reading this for school I am going to draw a picture of this!
