True Communism according to Marx would be a classless society without money but merely working in exchange for commodities. In the ultimate stage of Communism which has yet to be achieved there would be no state or government as that would divide people again into governors and governed.

Marx and Engels viewed socialism as being the lowest form of communism and that after the revolution it would develop and change. When it reached the stage where there is no longer any class differentiation and no more suffering and everyone has enough to eat and drink and have a home and so on, that stage of development they referred to as communism.
