There were many different foods that people ate during the Renaissance. Among the weird delicacies were pigeons a la tremoulette, roast roebuck, smoked tongue, roast swan, pears in mead, and roast joints of mutton roast.

But they also ate Omelette's (one was called Ova spongia ex lacte and was an Omelet with honey poured over the top of it.) Beef, Chicken, Pork were all common foods as well. Some of the more exotic foods included Dormice (yeah it is a type of mouse typically served dipped in honey.), Jellyfish, Ostrich, and flamingo. The empire had a wide reach and new foods and spices were brought to the city of Rome and distributed out from there.
